The 2024 FRC season was big for Team 4099! Our robot Nightingale competed HARD and reached heights we never have before. Team 4099 had an outstanding season in FRC 2024 with our robot, Nightingale. We performed exceptionally well during the qualifiers, securing a spot at the district championships. There, we achieved a major milestone as alliance captains for the first time and had an incredible run through the eliminations. Our teammate, Pranav Karthikeyan, was recognized as a Dean’s List finalist. Our success at the district championships propelled us to Worlds, finishing 7th in the district. We participated in two district events, winning a blue banner in Bethesda, MD, and advancing to the semifinals in Alexandria, VA. These achievements propelled us to the District Championships in Fairfax, VA, where we earned the Innovation in Control and Creativity awards. Additionally, Sarah Yu, a dedicated team member, was honored as a FIRST Dean’s List Finalist. Our success continued in Virginia, securing us a spot in the World Championships. For the first time in our team’s history, we were the first pick in the playoffs at the World competition.

We went to two district events, both held in Washington DC, and won second place with our alliance, advancing us to District Championships in Hampton, VA and earning us the Industrial Design and Autonomous awards. In Virginia, our robot continued on its warpath to victory, making it to semifinals while again earning us the Autonomous Award, securing us a spot in the World Championships. Then, in our most brilliant season thus far, our robot won the Turing division and made it to finals in the Einstein field.

Despite the challenges brought on the the pandemic, we managed to safely construct one of our most complex robots ever.

We planned on going to two district events, one in Haymarket and the other in Owings Mills, however due to the rise of COVID19, the Owings Mills event was canceled. We were pretty successful this season, reaching the Quarterfinals in one competition.
